The last summer session of Washington State University is now over and many Pullman Washington residents are heading to their favorite vacations spots.  A wonderful hush is settled over our community.

It won't last for long.  In a few short weeks, fall session at WSU will kick in.  Faculty will be back gearing up for the Fall.  Seniors and House Mothers will be getting those Soroities and Fraternities ready for Fall.  And Rush will begin.  I sure hope they get the clock tower up and running.  I miss the familiar sound of the clock chiming.

A lot of folks are still moving in town.  And many parents are considering if they should buy a home for their student while attending WSU.  We have some great condos and townhouses, as well as manufactured homes that provide great housing instead of renting.  

Here are two lovely condos convenienty located in the Townhouse Condominiums in Pullman.  One has a walkout to lovely grass.  The other a walk out to a deck overlooking the pool.  These easy care condos are a great choice for the student who needs a quiet study spot with hassle free living.








Need a bit more space?  How about a lovely view?  This great manufactured home provides both with its open floor plan and spacious fenced lot.  Garbage water and sewer are included in the lot rent.  And don't forget to peek inside this large garage for the workshop in the back!

Yesterday just made my day!  What was it you might ask?  It was all about client relationships.  And that tells you that you must be doing something very right.

I was told when I started this business, just build good client relationships. That not only sounded like sage advice but it also fit Who I am.   When I entered into this field, I never entered into for sales,  it was always about helping folks.  It is my passion.  Don't get me wrong...of course I need to make a living.  But high sales are not my priority.

I  live on a quiet cul-de-sac.  So really the only folks we see live in the neighborhood for the most part.  It was a hot summer evening so I had my windows and curtains wide open.  I was sitting in front of my computer madly trying to find a home for some folks relocating to Pullman when I looked up to see a young couple walking.  They were clients of mine who just bought their first house back in June.  I was so happy to see them, I ran outside to say hello!  They are two very special clients.  I count myself fortunate to have clients like that.

Next day, I go to work to find a note on my desk.  It is from the parents of some other special clients of mine who are here to visit from California.  They took time to stop in and say Hi...I loved that.  Again I am in such full swing to find these folks a house, I have to put that note aside till the end of the day.  I head up to help out at the family business still waiting to make that call, when I get a call from my son.  They had stopped in to meet my family at our shop!   He had called me to tell me he had sent them my way!    Again, I ran out to greet these wonderful folks!  We catch up to find that the young couple is now engaged...CONGRATS...and the parents are now proud Grandparents ...more CONGRATS!  I was so touched they came to see me to share their great news!

After that I head out to preview a few homes for my client.  I am driving down the road to pass another really great client waving at me from their sunroof after pulling out from their new home that we closed this year.  Another first time home buyer that has settled into their home with the most adorable little girl with another baby on the way so soon!  I had recently been invited to their house warming and it gave me the greatest joy for their little girl to show me her new room!

This may sound corny, but it wonderful feeling that makes me love what I do.....gosh am I fortunate!

Tips for House Hunting in Pullman!

Our market place in Pullman Washington continues to be relatively active.  I am still out showing homes in Pullman, and that is always a great thing.  Folks are still moving within Pullman, and new folks are coming to Pullman as well.

As summer is in full swing, it can be hot when looking at homes.  Here are a few tips that might be helpful for you if you are going out to tour homes.  Let's break them down into two categories, before you look and the actual big day!

Before We  Look ~   Do your homework before we look.  I know, we all hate homework, but really we need to do it for our own benefit!. Here are two things you can do to ease the process.
   
Contact your lender ~  That pre-approval letter is so very important.  It tells us what price range we need to focusing on. I want to show you homes that fit your needs!   And when we find that home, it tells those  sellers you are a serious candidate come offer time!  If you need help, I am happy to pass on a few lenders names for you to interview.

Use my website ~ Look through My Pullman Real Estate Website and pick out potential candidates that have caught your eye.  And look through the listings I send and give me a list of homes that appeal to you. That gives me a better feel for what you are looking for.  Communicate with me...I am here to listen!

Take time to make a needs versus wish list ~ Tell me what you need...and what you would love to have. It will further help me zero in on some homes that I want to make sure you should see!



Now the big day is here ~ We are heading out to look at homes!  Here are a few things that you might want to remember!

Be selective ~ Ask me to show you the best candidates that fit your needs first.  I know you want to see everything...but really we spend  our   time knowing the inventory and we can ease your process by showing you the homes that meet your criteria first. If none of those are a fit, we will continue to look till we find it! I promise!  I want you to love your home!

Shoes ~ Do wear shoes that are easy to get on and off.  A lot of folks have had their carpets recently cleaned, so they ask us to remove their shoes.  So wear some shoes that you can easily slip on and off.  Most folks dress very comfortably and that is important too! Especially if it is a warm day!

Take notes ~   If you are coming from out of town, you most likely have to see as many homes as you possibly can in a short period of time. Really it is best if you limit yourself to about 5 houses a day, but sometimes that just isn't practical.  Especially if you are coming from out of town and have a few days to find that house.  This is where the note process is most helpful.  Write notes on the fliers to remind you why you liked a home.  Discard the fliers of the homes you didn't like.  Simplify!

Take your camera ~  You won't want to take pictures of all the homes...and you will want to be selective in your pictures.  But if there is something you really like about house, snap a picture.  It will help you jar your memory later!

Living in Pullman, I love to find things to do in Washington that are not too far from home.  A about an hour away is beautiful Rock Lake.  It is a beautiful drive from Pullman and I enjoy the ride as well as the destination.  I enjoy seeing the changing scenery of the beautiful rolling hills of the Palouse that makes Whitman County unique.

Rock Lake is a favorite fishing spot.  I know my husband loves to take his fishing gear and fish.  The lake has some wonderful rather large brown trout.  It is also as a great spot for a picnic or just a place to relax.

The formation of the rock bluffs surrounding this very deep lake also make a great backdrop for beautiful pictures as well.  Here is a picture I took on my last visit.

Oops!  How did that get in here?  LOL!!!  I can't resist...Chewie is such a cutie!  And he had such a great time!!!

Along the way, one of the things you will see are many farms and of course, barns.  One of the ones I stopped to take a picture of is this unique round barn.   This is one of two round barns that I am aware of near Pullman Washington.  The round barn was built to promote efficiency especially for dairy farmers.  They really are a sight to see.

So, next time you feel like taking in some unique scenery not far from Pullman, head to Rock Lake.  And don't forget the camera!

Today is going to be a hot one.  According to my Facebook Fan Page it will be about 80 degrees in Pullman Washington.  What a great day to go swimming!  

I grew up in the Lewiston Clarkston Valley.  And swimming was a part of the way to beat the heat for sure.  Pools and trips to the beach were a great escape from the heat.

In Pullman we don't have the blistering heat that often tops the 100 degree range.  We tend to run about 10 degrees cooler. So we are often in the 80's or 90's.  And our Fall and Spring  are cooler.  

Hurrah for Pullman!  We have both an indoor pool and an outdoor pool.  So swimming is enjoyed year round for us!  With the weather so great today a trip to Reaney Park just might be in order.  You can take in some rays and beat the heat at our Reaney Park Pool.  Or maybe an evening swim to wash away the tensions of the day.  But come cooler temperatures, don't forget our Indoor Acquatic Center!

Living in Pullman, I am always amazed at wonderful places that are nearby that we can enjoy in both Washington and Idaho within just a few mintues drive.  

I have many favorite places that I like to go.  I was raised in the Lewiston Clarkston Valley which borders both Washington and Idaho, as does Pullman and Moscow.  

So being born and raised in Lewiston and Clarkston, both the Clearwater River and the Snake River flowing against the majestic bluffs remind me of home.  They always take me back to a wonderful time in my life growing up.  And I love the feel of the warm breeze that blows up the canyon in Summer.  

Please enjoy this picture that I took on one of those recent afternoons when we grabbed the picnic basket and the camera!  And if you haven't explored Washington & Idaho I would suggest you do! And don't forget the camera!

The weather is fine in Pullman today!  Lovely mid 80 degree temperatures are providing a great backdrop for Pullman's Crazy Days Crazy about Art or maybe a walk along the Chipman Trail that connects Pullman Washington to our neighboring Moscow Idaho.

The Chipman Trail was opened in 1998 due to countless hours of dedication of many of our local Pullman Residents.  This 8 mile paved trail winds parallel to the highway providing both residents of Pullman and Moscow a safe and enjoyable trail that is ideal for walking, biking or skating.  Benches and rest stops are provided along the way so you can take the time to stop and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the rolling hills of the Palouse that put on their show with the various seasons. Right now we have a beautiful patchwork effect as various crops are beginning to turn their golden colors as harvest is about a week or so away according to some farming clients that I chatted with the other day.

The path is easy to access. The trail heads on the Pullman side are conveniently located next to Pullman's Quality Inn, and Moscow's trail head are found at Perimeter Drive. Get out and enjoy the weather today Pullman and Moscow....it is absolutely Paradise today!
