Here is a great video provided by the Washington Association of Realtors that they have asked we pass on!  It  simplifies the big picture in buying a home.  If you have any questions about the Pullman WA or Moscow ID real estate market, I am happy to  help.

Fall is here and winter is approaching...with that in mind temperatures are dropping. Last week in Pullman Washington we had unusually cold weather. Temperatures dropped from our usual 30 to 40 night time temps to nearly 10 degrees!  Fortunately, things have warmed back up, but with that in mind it is time to think about how your home "shows" during the fall and winter months.

For those of you home owners who are living in your home while your home is on the market, please make sure to leave those interior lights on and furnace up for showings.   If you should have a fireplace, a fire in the fireplace is a great selling point!

A well lit home is a great marketing tool too!  You might want to consider some lights a long your walk way. And think of how many people pass by your home on their way home from work.  Your home beaming with lights provides a welcome beacon that makes that buyer want to come in and see your lovely home first hand.

And if you do find yourself having to move on to your new location, leaving your home vacant during the fall and winter months, one of the very most important thing you can do is leave your thermostat up!  A cold and dark home just doesn't have that warm inviting feeling that allows a buyer to see themselves in their new home. Leaving your heat at merely 50 plus may protect your pipes from freezing weather, but it doesn't provide that warm comfy feeling your buyers are looking for!   So, turn up the heat!  Your buyers and you, the seller, could very well be glad you did!

Yesterday was the monthly Chamber of Commerce luncheon.  It was most enjoyable to meet other members of the Pullman Chamber of Commerce. The spirit of community that we share in our small town was most impressive.  

Yesterday's speaker was Dr. Scott Adams, the head of the Pullman Memorial Hospital.  We, as a community, are proud of our great facility that has such a high customer satisfaction level both in our state and nationally.  Way to go Pullman Memorial!

Lunch was scrumptious.  The company was great.  It was a most enjoyable way to spend the lunch hour!  And in behalf of all our team, thanks Pullman Chamber of Commerce!

Fall is in full swing in Pullman Washington and the leaves are putting out their final show before tucking in for their long winter's nap.

Now is great time to get a head start on getting your yard ready for the Spring, or spruced up for the Fall and Winter selling season.

Landscaping plants are traditionally drastically marked down. Both shrubs and trees get the fall growing season to get established before putting on their spring show.

Fall is also a great time to tuck some bulbs in for that early spring season.  Here in Pullman Washington, we traditionally have cold  springs.  Often our temps drop below freezing.  Spring bulbs putout a show that is hard to beat.    And don't forget to tuck a few left over bulbs in some of your now vacant pots for a great show of color for a fraction of the cost!

And don't forget your lawn.  Fall is the best time to get your yard in shape.  When raking up the leaves, consider thatching your yard and giving it a dose of winter fertilizer so it can put down strong roots over the winter months.  

Pruning roses, shrubs and trees is also a great way to get your yard looking tidy over the winter.  With foliage gone, it is a time for the branches to take center show, especially with a dusting of snow.  And you will thank yourself come Spring!
