Thanks for the invite to your group. As you can probably tell...I am a HUGE fan of our little four legged friends. Here is a picture of Chewbacca taken with my iphone. Just a few minutes before when his eyes were closed you couldn't tell where in the world his eyes were...
He is just one year old. In fact, he was an early Christmas present. I got him a year ago tomorrow when I was down in the Lewiston Clarkston Valley shopping the day after Thanksgiving.
He is Munchkin...a cross between a Yorkie and Shitzu. So here is to one year with the cutest little bundle of fur you can imagine!

I was watching the news while getting my kitchen cleaned up and ready for some serious cooking over the next few days and overheard a broadcast stating that a Couer D'Alene Cabin was on the move.
I looked up and couldn't believe it! A move! That was an understatement! They are barging a 100,000 pound cabin across the lake! Here is the link in case you would like to see the pictures of the move.
According to the reporter and the article posted on line, the land was purchased to build a multi-million dollar home along the lake....soooo the cabin had to go.
It looks like quite an extensive undertaking. First, of course, they had to get it off the foundation and on the barge. Can you imagine the shifting weight?
And what the report brought out that the article doesn't, is that it will be an uphill challenge to get that cabin on it's new and waiting foundation.
The company spokesman said he and his crew would be working through Thanksgiving. It was a large job and they just couldn't pass it up...just hope they take some much needed time to enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving Feast

Thanksgiving always comes a little early for us in Pullman Washington as the Washington State University students pack up to head to their families for Thanksgiving Break.
They are busy heading to and from classes today knowing that a the week ahead will be a great time to re-connect with their families and friends.
It is always amazing to watch the streets in Pullman go from being packed to a special quietness as the students head home. A wonderful stillness surrounds our community during the Holiday times....
Yet, interestinly today has also been a busy day with lots of showings for myself and lots of our agents.... I have seen lots of activity at our office ...that is great!
I would like to take this time to wish you all traveling home for Thanksgiving a safe trip and wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday!
Please enjoy the video I did ... just my way of saying Thank You....and How Much I appreciate You and Your Referrals.....

With the U.S. Census process beginning, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) advises people to be cautious. The major concern is that individuals don't become a victim of fraud or identity theft.
The first phase of the 2010 U.S. Census is under way as workers have begun verifying the addresses of households across the country. Eventually, more than 140,000 U.S. Census workers will count every person in the United States and will gather information about every person living at each address including name, age, gender, race, and other relevant data.
The big question is - how do you tell the difference between a U.S. Census worker and a con artist? BBB offers the following advice:
** If a U.S. Census worker knocks on your door, they will have a badge, a handheld device, a Census Bureau canvas bag, and a confidentiality notice. Ask to see their identification and their badge before answering their questions. However, you should never invite anyone you don't know into your home.
** Census workers are currently only knocking on doors to verify address information. Do not give your Social Security number, cre dit card or banking information to anyone, even if they claim they need it for the U.S. Census. While the Census Bureau might ask for basic financial information, such as a salary range, the Census Bureau will not ask for Social Security, bank account, or credit card numbers nor will employees solicit donations.
Eventually, Census workers may contact you by telephone, mail, or in person at home. However, the Census Bureau will not contact you by Email, so be on the lookout for Email scams impersonating the Census.
Never click on a link or open any attachments in an Email that are supposedly from the U.S. Census Bureau.
For more advice on avoiding identity theft and fraud, visit http://www.bbb.org/.

Pullman Washington, home of Washington State University, sits on the far eastern border of the state. Washington State University and Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories are two of the major employers of our area.
Winter is approaching and just last week we had our first snowfall. The snow just touched the rolling farm fields that surround us providing a beautiful and lovely backdrop to our wonderful little community tucked into the Palouse.

Remembering what we enjoy because of the sacrifice of others....
I stop to reflect thinking of those I know who personally served and those I don't. My husband's father landed on Omaha Beach after the first initial waves. For years, he really didn't talk much about it..there was always an untold pain behind his eyes like so many of our soldiers who survived.... But I have been told that late in life he went back with some of his grandchildren and began to tell of the ultimate sacrifice made by many...many of his friends. And I had the honor to watch his military service when he passed away recently...there was such a beautiful and fitting dignity that I will always remember.
We enjoy so much in this great land thanks to the men and women who serve. And we wish everyone one of them safety. And for those who have fallen we offer our meager thanks...
Veterans will be honored today at Washington State University in Pullman Washington at the Compton Union Building Auditorium between 9:30 to 11:15 AM. There will be refreshment to start off the ceremony with the ceremony beginning at 10:00 AM. At 10:45 there will be a procession to the WSU Veterans Memorial with the laying of the wreath and honor guard to follow.
Rebecca Schwartz is one of our local volunteers who works tirelessly in supporting our military and as usual works behinds the scenes giving back as her personal way to say thanks. When our local national guardsmen were called into service, she organized several support the troups gatherings in our community whereby we gathered together to write cards and send care packages to our soldiers throughout the year. When our troops returned she was presented a flag in thanks to her supporting them.
Here is a picture they sent to us in thanks...and it strikes me as a wonderful cycle...we reach out in thanks as we should...and they reach back and say thank you for support...do please reach out and say thanks today....somehow...someway...just get it done...they did...

Now is even a better time to buy a home in Washington State! First Time home buyers now have until April 30, 2009 to have a signed around purchase and sale agreement for their first home and be eligible for up to an 8,000 dollar tax credit.
The buyer also has a 60 day grace period to complete their financing. So that means you could be in your first home anywhere between the first snowfall in Pullman to our wonderful 4th of July celebration in Sunnyside Park!
And now more first time home buyers qualify! The annual income qualifications have also risen to 75,000 to 125,000 for singles and 150,000 to 225,000 for married couples! That is great news for first time home buyers!
And don't feel left out if you currently own a home. Now with the expanded tax credit it current home owners may also qualify for a tax credit up to 6,500! They too must purchase by April 30, 2010. And to qualify they must of lived in their current home for 5 consecutive years over the 8 previous years to qualify. The home must be $800,000 or less.... and be their primary residence between November 7, 2009 and April 30, 2010. Income limits are the same as for the first time home buyers...75,000 to 125,000 for singles and 150,000 to 225,000 for married couples!
Rates are still great. I was speaking with a loan officer today and it is still possible for home buyers to get into a home for as little as 3 1/2 percent down! What a great time to buy that Washington home whether you are a first time home buyer or current home owner thinking about a new home.
Call me and let's see what we can do to get you into that your own piece of the American Dream in Pullman Washington that you can call "Home Sweet Home."

I live in a small town. We can get across town in about 5 minutes. And even when we get inundated with out of town visitors for an out of town event such as a WSU game it is still about 10 minutes. Living in a small town has it's benefits.
One of those benefits is Realtor Tour. Because we can readily access the properties in our area, our office, like many of the offices here go out on tour faithfully. The benefits are immense.
We see the properties before we show always keeping our eye for that perfect house for our client.
We have a better feel for the pricing on our own listings either currently on the market or coming on the market.
We let our seller's in our area know that we as an association are working hard to sell their property. I think this is very important....we need to let the seller's know first hand that we are out there working to sell their home!
We get the opportunity to meet as an office and caravan. Our office is like a family and it gives us an opportunity to see each other and discuss current trends. We sure do have a great time on Tour!
We also get to see other agents in different offices too....and that is great! Sometimes it is an old acquaintance that has moved on and a chance to catch up. Sometimes it is an agent that we may of had a deal with in the past. It gives us a chance to catch up about how they and their family may be.
Last week our office at Beasley put on a Breakfast tour. It was a blast...each of us put something different out so that you had a pretty full tummy by the time tour was over. We also put in a sign in sheet for a drawing.
This week another Realtor from a different office put out lunch. It was great! I think the golden rule applies here...we treat both our clients, the seller's of other Realtor's clients and each other as Realtors as we would want to be treated ourselves...
