Here is a picture which I took in the evening of the ocean near Seaside, Oregon.  There really is nothing like the ocean.  It so vast!!!!!  It makes you feel so small!!!  I just love hearing the waves.....

I'm taking some really good pictures on my trip to Portland.  I'm of course on my way to RainCamp in Portland, which I'm really looking forward to.

Today is a beautiful day today here in Pullman Washington!  The skies are blue!  And due to the unusual amount of rainfall we have experienced in June, everything is so vivid and green!  I absolutely adore that fresh green look of early spring, and although I have hated to see the rain, I am loving the results.  Today is expected to hit 82 degrees!

Although today is a busy one at work, I am determined to get out there and enjoy this day!  Today would be a great day to take a hike to Kamiak Butte.  Kamiak Butte is a only a few minutes North of Pullman and a great place for an escape!  I love hiking the Pine Ridge Trail to the top. From there you can see for miles.  And the beauty of the rolling hills of the Palouse, is quite the sight!  I also especially enjoy the variety of plant life, especially the wildflowers.  Here are a few pictures I have taken of on a recent trip to Kamiak Butte.

Pullman Washington, home of Washington State University, sits on the far eastern border of the state in the heart of the Palouse Region. Pioneer Hill, the southeast corner of Pullman Washington, is home to both Kruegel Park and lovely Lawson Gardens. Many of the residents of Pioneer Hill find this a big bonus to living on Pioneer Hill. Our elementary school on Pioneer Hill is Franklin Elementary. Our middle school for all of Pullman is Lincoln Middle School. The homes on Pioneer Hill range from vintage to newer homes.

Today I received a gift from my father from Christmas past that brought joy to my heart and tears to my eyes.... I was so deeply moved I wanted to share it with you.  I was searching through You Tube today and came across Fred Waring and The Pennsylvanians.  

This was a band from the big band era and the man who invented The Waring Blender.  My father, Stuart Churchill, was one of Fred's tenor soloists.

I happened to click on the following video and much to my surprise in this simple little video the unmistakable voice came right out of the past...a voice that I miss so much.  He is the first soloist that you hear.

Today is the last day for finals at Washington State University!   The fall semester is now officially coming to an end here in Pullman and graduation ceremonies took place last Saturday!  

I am up at my son's business, glo tanning salon, covering shifts for our girls so that they can head home early for break.  A special heartfelt wish from me to all our girls...both employees and clients!   It is a really nice change of pace and I am enjoying myself immensely.  Our special girls have really made this business take off...they have all worked really hard this semester helping this business get off to an amazing start.   And our clients really are the best and have really welcomed us....

It is really great to see the excited look on their faces as they stop by before heading home throughout Washington as well as other destinations really throughout the US and the world!  Fortunately for those who are heading over the passes today and tomorrow they won't face adverse weather conditions...but instead should have great traveling conditions.

That is one of the really great things about our great community here in Pullman.  We have so much energy thanks to WSU and all that the university brings!  

And yet, as the last few stragglers leave today our town will take on a quiet hush almost like a fresh snowfall....it is a magical time of year....wishing all safe travels as they head home and a most wonderful time with their families and friends.  Wishing them all a most wonderful break!
