Mother's Day Treat - A Hike on Kamiah Butte, Pullman WA

I would love to wish everyone a wonderful Mother's Day! Many of my clients and friends like myself treasure our families. I am the proud mother of two fine sons who are now grown and a wonderful new daugther-in-law. And of course, my little Chewie Pup is my newest "little one."
What a wonderful day I enjoyed with my family. As we gathered around the kitchen table I was taken back by the blessings of a wonderful loving family. They say the kitchen is the heart and soul of the home, and I believe it. I know the heart and soul of my home has got to be the kitchen when my family is gathered. After lunch together we decided to head off for a hike. We are so lucky to live in Pullman in the beautiful state of Washington and have the great outdoors right out our back doors!
Our family spent the afternoon going on a lovely walk around Kamiak Butte, a 15 minute drive North of Pullman. This wonderful spot was the gathering for many family celebrations today on this glorious day. Some gathered for picnics, others like our family walked the three mile hike around the butte. We kept waiting for Chewie, our little 7 month old Yorkie/Shitzu pup to tire out, but he relished every moment of the hike. We could hardly keep up!
As I walked around the trail it got me thinking about the importance of families, something that I hold near and dear to my heart. I thought about several of my clients as I walked along the trail. Many of their faces came to mind such as two dear clients whose home I closed for them just on Friday. In many ways some of these special clients become a part of my family. And it gives me a warm feeling knowing that in some small way I become a part of theirs, knowing that they are gathered around the table enjoying life with the ones they love or enjoying the great outdoors in our beloved part of the country called the Palouse. Here is to all those Mother's today! Happy Mother's Day! I for one am a very happy mother!
