Today I received a gift from my father from Christmas past that brought joy to my heart and tears to my eyes.... I was so deeply moved I wanted to share it with you. I was searching through You Tube today and came across Fred Waring and The Pennsylvanians.
This was a band from the big band era and the man who invented The Waring Blender. My father, Stuart Churchill, was one of Fred's tenor soloists.
I happened to click on the following video and much to my surprise in this simple little video the unmistakable voice came right out of the past...a voice that I miss so much. He is the first soloist that you hear.
Then, as I continued to search, I came across the picture on the video it was so familiar but the resolution kind of bad...then I remembered seeing it hang in my Dad's music studio....and suddenly it all came back...and my Dad kind of jumped off the page. He is the the young man on the left of Fred between two lovely ladies...I can't tell you how fitting this is....my Dad was always such a ladies man!
Thank you Dad, it was the best Christmas present ever! I love you so.....
