On Saturday I was invited to my new buyers house warming party. It was pure delight to have their little toddler show me her new room! She is cute as a button! And I loved seeing them settled in, and the wonderful improvements they have already made with new paint, some wood floors and tile in the kitchen and entry way. They love their new home and it makes me so happy to see them settled into their new home.
As I was chatting with some of their guests, the subject turned toward one of our local hardware stores, Henry's Ace Hardware Store here in Pullman Washington. Her comment was how customer service orientated Henry's Ace is. And it is true! The staff there is always there to greet you with a smile and a helping hand. They really live up to the adage, the helpful hardware folks.
They have a large selection of garden, hardware as well a fantastic paint counter. They have also recently added a sporting goods section for all our local residence fishing and hunting needs including licenses. I especially like all the specialty cleaning items you can find there that will not be found anywhere else in town. They are located at 1690 South Grand in the old Safeway location.
As Pullman is a small town, I personally appreciate knowing that I can stop in and get such helpful advice. And it is also most helpful to be able to direct my clients to someone who can help them get their home ready for the market, or how to tackle an upcoming project. And of course, their stellar customer service is always so appreciated. In my opinion, it sets them a part from all the rest!

Lori - I'm so glad that hardwarre stores are still in business. Iwas sure Home Depot and Lowes were going to corner the market. But I was wrong. You will never get the kind of service at a big retailer like you will a neighborhood hardware store. I use the all of the time. I hate standing in line for 15 minutes to buy a .20 piece of pvc to fix a sprinkler! Nice job sharing this info!
Lori, we have two small locally-owned hardware stores here in Lewisburg and are always busy and ready to help their customers....We have a Lowes Store as well, but it is NOT the same, although they have a much larger inventory....I still like the locally-owned stores and their sevices.
