Ice Cream + New Pullman Neighbors = A Great Homecoming!

Neighborhoods pullman waBuying a Pullman Washington Home has its advantages.  I have two new buyers who just recently settled into their new home.  They live in a great College Hill Neighborhood.  And I have always known it was a great neighborhood filled with working professionals, professors and staff at Washington State University.  But last night I experienced first hand what a great neighborhood it really is!

You see, my buyers invited me to their Ice Cream Social.  I was running a bit late as Pullman is overflowing with Homecoming activities.  Getting through the checkout lines and through down town took a bit longer than usual...our usual 10 minutes anyway.  When I arrived the house was overflowing.  I rather expected to see family and new friends since their move to Pullman.

Instead, I found a neighborhood.  And it was impressive.  It was not just in numbers but a wonderfully intertwined group of neighbors who came over to welcome their new neighbors. I tell you what, it is a tradition we need to bring back from a day gone by.  People were intermingling...no phones....no texting to each other...but actually conversing!

Besides the Ice Cream from our very own WSU Ferdinands, the best part had to be going around the room one at a time through about 50 people as each neighbor introduced themselves.  The ages were varied from some who had been on the block a long time and referred to houses by the names of their former owners, and young new neighbors like my new buyers who were welcomed with open arms.

And to set the stage, the previous sellers were there to pass the torch.  How fitting for homecoming weekend at WSU.  It was a homecoming that made this Realtor thankful.  Thankful for such great buyers.  Thankful to meet such great sellers for the first time.  Thankful to be privileged to witness this great neighborhood.  And honored they wanted this outsider to be a part of it.
