We all know that we need a good foundation to build a house. The foundation is the essential element to the structure to follow.
But how often do we stop and think about the foundation of our business? I have just personally passed the milestone of my first year as a REALTOR. And I am proud of that and what a great year it has been. It has caused me to stop and look back at my personal principles of business to see where I have been and hopefully continue to build on these. I won't bore you with all of those, but just a few are:
-
HARD WORK (and it has been that!!)
-
PROVIDING THE UTMOST LEVEL OF SERVICE I CAN
-
EDUCATION, EDUCATION, EDUCATION
-
TRYING TO THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX
-
NOT BEING AFRAID TO TRY NEW THINGS (like blogging....I can't believe I am doing this!)
Of course, all this doesn't mean anything without the essential ingredient of ATTITUDE & PERSEVERANCE! I think that is going to be crucial in the coming months. And that is one of the things I love about AR...it is so refreshing to have such a supportive group of resourceful people with resourceful ideas!!! THANK YOU!
Below is a picture of house that I listed and sold! It is one of those monumental times that I will always look back on for motivation. I helped a new builder get Spec Financing when it was really hard to get, I listed the house and sold it before we framed second floor! I think everyone thought I was nuts...BUT I DID IT!
THANK YOU for taking time out of your busy day to read my thoughts.
And I would sure love to hear from you about YOUR PRINCIPLES OF BUSINESS. That is what makes AR so great! I have learned so much reading so many of your posts....I thought what the heck, I would give it a try...
PS Anyone got some resourceful information for the building process...I want to learn more!

Lori, Diddo on the Congrats! Great post and advice, it is hard work!
Jared:
Thanks for reading and thanks for the comment on my analogy.
Tony & Darcy:
Thank you as well for the reading and taking the time to comment.
Lori, Look at your great post. I think giving superior service to your clients is the key. I think you can try to train and teach this to folks, but for some reason I think it needs to be in your heart. People can tell. Just be true to yourself and clients and you will continue to prosper.
Audrey,
Thanks for your response and your tip. I agree about superior service. You are right people can tell. I know this sounds rather odd, but that is how I view real estate, as a service business. One day my owner commented I was in sales...boy was I shocked...! It will always be a service business to me...
